About
grey paris was formed in berlin in 2016 and they deliberately follow a certain aesthetic path similar to that of e.s.t., gogo penguin and nils frahm. this musical chemistry led to their first album “now is the moment”, after their ideas turned into beautiful musical pieces. nowadays, the band is under a creativity spell and is already recording its second album “medea”, which will be released in autumn 2019.
“they characterize their music as “cinematic electro-acoustic jazz” and the truth is that the sound landscapes they make through enchanting, minimal and trance echoryhtms are creating images so powerful that they are one of the most unique modern jazz groups.”

the band formed quickly and spontaneously after pianist and composer yiorgos parisis brought a piano into his life after four years without playing a note. drummer-piano maker arian stechert was called to repair the newly found instrument and within days, the two were fervently composing music that would later become their first ep 'now is the moment'. with the recent addition of mark beumer, an experienced electronic bass player with his hands in a variety of genres, the momentum has built and the trio is gathering attention through live shows in the berlin music scene.
the band has played numerous concerts in gemany and abroad (including smida jazz festival,19th technopolis jazz festival athens (best newcomer band 2019), jazz in the park competition romania (best club band award), piano day in greece, performance with get the blessing, embassies, kantine am berghain, musik und frieden, berlinale, b-flat, etc.).
